THE BEST OF YOU IS YET TO COME
IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME (IBS)
One IBS treatment recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is hypnotherapy. NICE, which is a Department of Health and Social Care body providing guidance and advice for doctors, recommends that hypnotherapy should be considered when symptoms have not improved with medication after one year.
The current research evidence concludes that hypnosis is effective in the management of IBS symptoms including pain.
I have undertaken additional specific training in evidence-based Gut Directed Hypnotherapy to support you and help you to manage your IBS symptoms.
Gut Directed Hypnotherapy is a special type of hypnosis that is specifically designed to help manage the symptoms associated with gut disorders such as IBS. This type of hypnosis specifically addresses the miscommunication between the gut and the brain
Generally, clients will show improvements within 4-6 sessions.
During our sessions we will put together an ‘IBS toolkit’ that works for you and practice skills that will help you to better manage your IBS symptoms. During the sessions I will teach you: calming relaxation techniques, pain control techniques and self-hypnosis. During hypnosis I will be making helpful, useful suggestions to your subconscious mind to help your brain and gut communicate and help you regain control.
