Solution focused supervision

What is Solution Focused Supervision?

Solution Focused Supervision is a collaborative approach that emphasizes your existing strengths and resources, guiding you to develop practical solutions for professional challenges. By concentrating on your goals and successes, this supervision method fosters a positive and empowering environment for growth and development.
The purpose of Solution Focused Supervision is to allow supervisees to develop a reflective practice regarding their work. This is a collaborative relationship in which the supervisee and supervisor work together so that the supervisee can do his/her best work. The supervisee chooses what issues to bring to supervision and retains all responsibility for their work.

Who am I?

My name is Caroline Parsons, and I am a fully qualified and insured Clinical Hypnotherapist, Solution Focused Brief Therapist, and an Anxiety UK Approved Therapist. I am also the proud co-author of The Art of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.

I completed my training and was awarded my Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and my Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma at the renowned Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training Centre in Plymouth in 2015.

I went on to further my knowledge and skills by completing the following:
  • Diploma in Medical Hypnotherapy at The Clinical Hypnotherapy School
  • Certificate in Solution Focused Brief Therapy at BRIEF International
  • Rewind Trauma Therapy with Dr David Muss at The International Association For Rewind Trauma Therapy (IARTT)
  • Gut Directed Hypnotherapy for IBS at The Clinical Hypnotherapy School
  • Anxiety UK Approved Therapist Training
  • Accredited Member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy

I  also have a First Class Honours Degree in Psychology.

I offer 1:1 and group supervision, both online (via Microsoft Teams), face-to-face and by phone. Group sessions are small and friendly, with a maximum of eight supervisees, to ensure everyone has a chance to participate.

Benefits of one-to-one Supervision

💬 A calm, private space – No pressure, no performance. Just time for you to talk, reflect, and explore at your own pace.

🌱 Gentle and encouraging – We focus on what’s going well, build on your strengths, and support your confidence as a practitioner.

🎯 Completely tailored – Every session is shaped around what you need – whether that’s reassurance, reflection, guidance, or simply a space to be heard.

🙌 No judgment, just support – You don’t need to have the ‘right’ question. You don’t even need to know where to start. You’re welcome just as you are.

The Power of Regular Group Supervision for Solution Focused Hypnotherapists

In the world of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, we understand the value of working collaboratively with our clients to help them move towards their preferred future. But it’s equally important that, as therapists, we create space for our own growth, reflection, and support. This is where regular group supervision plays a vital role.

Why group supervision matters:
Group supervision isn’t just a professional requirement; it’s a powerful resource. Meeting regularly with fellow practitioners provides a dedicated opportunity to:
• Reflect on client work and explore what’s working well.
• Share successes and challenges in a supportive, non-judgemental environment.
• Gain fresh perspectives and new ideas from colleagues who truly understand the nuances of Solution Focused practice.
• Build confidence and feel re-energised in your therapeutic work.

The benefits go beyond compliance:
While professional bodies like the AfSFH and NCH require supervision, the benefits extend far beyond simply ‘ticking a box’. Regular group supervision helps therapists:

✅ Maintain high standards of practice and client care.
✅ Reduce the risk of professional isolation, especially for those in private practice.
✅ Continue developing skills and deepening understanding of the Solution Focused approach.
✅ Feel part of a like-minded community that celebrates progress and resilience.

A space for self-care and professional growth:
At its best, group supervision is more than a meeting — it’s a place to reconnect with the values that brought us to this work, nurture our wellbeing, and ensure we’re resourced to support our clients effectively.

Whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, investing in regular group supervision is an investment in your clients, your practice, and your own professional fulfilment.

If you’d like to know more about Solution Focused Hypnotherapy group supervision, or explore joining a supportive group, get in touch today. You don't have to do this alone.
